Fair Share Tuition Model (2025-2026)

MEI’s tuition is based on your family’s financial capacity, not a flat rate. Through our Fair Share Tuition Model, each family pays a percentage of their gross annual income:

Step 1: Determine Gross Annual Income

  • Income Ranges: Families provide their gross annual income to determine their tuition level.

Title
Income Range
Tuition (% of Income)
Estimated Annual Tuition
Tier 1
Less than $50,000
3% – 5%
$1,500 – $2,500
Tier 2
$50,001 – $75,000
5% – 7%
$2,500 – $5,250
Tier 3
$75,001 – $100,000
7% – 9%
$5,250 – $9,000
Tier 4
$100,001 – $150,000
9% – 11%
$9,000 – $16,500
Tier 5
Over $150,000
11% – 15%
$16,500 – $22,500

Step 2: Calculate Family Contribution

  • Calculation: Families multiply their gross annual income by the applicable percentage to determine their tuition.

Example:

  • A family with a gross income of $80,000 would pay between 7% and 9% of their income, resulting in tuition between $5,600 and $7,200 per child.

Step 3: Financial Aid and Scholarships

  • Additional Aid: Families facing extraordinary circumstances (e.g., medical expenses, job loss) can apply for further assistance.

  • Scholarships: Merit-based and needs-based scholarships are available to further reduce the financial burden.

Example Tuition Calculation

  • Family A earns $55,000 annually. They calculate their tuition at 6% of income:

    • $55,000 x 6% = $3,300 annual tuition.

  • Family B earns $130,000 annually. They calculate their tuition at 10% of income:

    • $130,000 x 10% = $13,000 annual tuition, but this is capped at $10,000.

Payment Options

  • Monthly Plan: Payments can be spread over 10 months.

  • Semester Plan: Two equal payments in August and January.

  • Annual Plan: Full payment by August 1st with a possible discount.

Tuition Caps: No family would pay more than the standard maximum tuition rate set by the school (e.g., $10,000).
Minimum Tuition: All families are asked to pay at least a base minimum (e.g., $1,500), ensuring commitment and value in the educational experience.
