Gifts of Time, often referred to as volunteer work, involve individuals giving their time and skills to support charitable organizations and causes. This form of gift is invaluable, providing hands-on assistance and expertise that we rely on to fulfill our missions. Here’s a detailed overview of different gifts of time:

Time Donation

Direct Service Volunteering

  • Description: Volunteers provide hands-on assistance directly to the people or communities served

Administrative Volunteering

  • Description: Volunteers assist with administrative tasks like answering phones, filing paperwork, data entry, or managing social media accounts.

Event Volunteering

  • Description: Volunteers help organize, set up, and manage events that raise funds or awareness for MEI such as a charity run/walk, gala, auction, or community fair.

Skilled Volunteering

  • Description: Volunteers offer their professional skills or expertise to support the operations involving legal advice, financial planning, marketing services, or IT support.

Board Membership

  • Description: Volunteers serve on the board of directors, helping to guide the organization’s strategic direction and governance by attending board meetings, participating in committees, and assisting with fundraising efforts.

Pro Bono Work

  • Description: Professionals donate their specialized services free of charge. 

Mentorship

  • Description: Volunteers offer guidance, support, and advice to individuals, often in a one-on-one setting.
